ASK THE EXPERTS

This is your chance to find out how to create the look with innovative style advice from ghd's expert styling team - the Directive.

I have frizzy hair and I want a product to flatten the frizz?

Use ghd shining serum to help flatten and tame frizzy hair and add shine to your finished look. Use a pea size amount, rub between your hands and place on the mid-length and ends and work up to the root area.

I am looking for a new ghd styler. My hair is short one side and longer the other, the shortest is by the bottom of my ear. Which styler would you recommend?

The ghd IV styler would be the most suitable option to work on your shortest length as well as the longer sections.

I have long, quite thick, hair and have just purchased the ghd IV styler. My hair has become really fuzzy over the years and has now grown out of shape. What products should I buy to protect my hair and do you have any advice about how to get some style into my hair?

ghd Replenish shampoo / conditioner will add moisture to your thick hair.

ghd Thermal Protector for dry/coarse hair will protect from the heat of hairdryer and stylers, apply to wet hair.

To keep straight and frizz-free use ghd obedience cream , apply to wet hair. Finish with ghd polishing serum to add shine and keep any unwanted frizz away.

Always use a small amount of product i.e. 5p size, work into your hands first then through your hair.

To get more shape and style into your ask your stylist for a full consultation and have regular cuts to maintain the shape.

I have an oval face with big cheeks, what style will suit me?

Keep your hair long to about shoulder length with soft layers to soften the face.

I have short hair, which ghd styler should I buy?

If it is a short crop like Victoria Beckham then the ghd IV mini styler, if it is more like Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud then the original ghd IV styler would be perfect.

I need a new style for 2009, any suggestions?

Curls are still going to be big in 2009, wearing them soft, big and bouncy but anything goes. Ask your stylist for a full consultation if you are looking for a radical change. They will be able to suggest the best style for you.

I am a guy and when I straighten my hair sometimes it dries out, what can I use to help?

Protect the hair with ghd thermal protector for dry/coarse hair, apply to wet hair and it will stop all types of heat from damaging your hair. You could also try moisture products to put the moisture back into your hair like ghd Replenish shampoo and conditioner

My hair can go static and fluffy after using ghd stylers, any advice?

Use ghd thermal protector and ghd obedience cream to stop the hair from frizzing, apply both when wet with just a 5p size of ghd obedience cream. This will protect from the heat of the hairdryer and stylers.

Any treatment to help hair grow?

We don't have a treatment for hair growth but we do have ghd rescue drops that help to smooth the cuticle and add moisture/protein into the hair, this helps to strengthen your hair which will lead to a good environment for your hair to grow.

I am a guy with short very thick frizzy hair, I am trying to achieve a shiny, smooth and a bit lighter look. What do you suggest?

To get your hair lighter, speak to your stylist and ask about highlights and different colour tones for your hair. In terms of product to achieve the smooth, shiny look, you could try ghd precision wax as this gives hold to your style and creates shine.

My hair has lost it shine, any ideas?

It depends on the colour of your hair but you could use ghd guardian shampoo and conditioner to help bring back the shine to your hair, this works best on darker/redder hair. Try ghd shining serum if your hair is thick or ghd polishing serum if it is finer, both will help as a finishing product to add shine.

How do I create full, volumous curls with my ghd IV styler?

Big glamorous curls are very in at the moment and the ghd IV styler is the ideal tool you need to create the perfect look. View our creation video and for a step-by-step guide on how to create volumous curls and which products you need to use to sustain them.

My hair is always a bit flat what product do I use to give it a bit of life?

You need to use ghd uplift spray, which will give the hair volume from the roots outwards. Just one spray and your hair is given new life with this flexible-hold spray volumising gel.

I have learnt to curl my hair with my ghd stylers using the techniques shown on the site, however my style always falls out after a couple of hours, how do I maintain the look all day?

It sounds like you need ghd creation spray, perfect for holding your look firmly in place for longer, especially when using your styler to create movement. When styling, lightly spray with ghd creation spray. Finally, when you have finished styling, spray on ghd fixation spray to ensure that your look will last. This light, non-sticky hairspray is delivered as a fine mist which dries quickly to retain bounce and shine whilst giving a firm hold. Explore the entire thermodynamics range.
