GO DISCO

If the London Spring/Summer catwalk shows were anything to go by, the big news in beauty for spring and summer in 2010 will be colour... the louder and bolder the better. While pastel, candy and ice-cream hues are being worked into a more subtle style, sharp neon and vivid rainbow shades will be whipping us all into a colour induced frenzy which screams 'disco'.

The trend is mostly focussed on the eye area, where layers of popping colour can be piled on for maximum effect. Issa wins out for exploring the look to full extent, with renowned makeup artist Pat McGrath creating an eye full of tropical, iridescent colour which gave models an unapologetic seventies vibe.

Elsewhere, Paul Smith ignored the eyes and poured attention on the lips, injecting them with a daring shot of acidic orange, fluorescent blue or shocking pink lipstick, for a decidedly after after-dark, party look.
