Rated 3 out of 5 Did I expect too much? I have had pair of *other brand* straighteners with wide plates for 3 years and I was super satisfied. When they broke looking for replacement become a nightmare After 4 pairs of hair straighteners in the last year which all did not satisfied my needs I got very nervous and decided to forget about the price and go with what it seemed to me the best hair straighteners on the market according to reviews I've read. Having in mind the price of the GHD Gold Max styler I've expected them to be the best I've ever had, and they disappointed me. They are not the worst but they barely edge over lot of cheaper straighteners I have had tried, and there are lot of better pairs, for a fraction of ghd's price. They do give a nice smooth finish, but despite of the "wide" plates it takes me almost 45 minutes to style my hair and achieve the desired effect. And after that long struggling, then I can say I'm pretty satisfied but that's only 'till the next day when I get up. My hair don't last more than one day, ever. So I have to style it every day, which is exhausting and frustrating. Because I use straighteners almost 10 years, I know what I'm looking in a product, and with this item I certainly didn't get it. I think the problem is in the non adjustable temperature, in my experience my hair needs a temperature over 220' C to be styled fast and smooth. Also it needs bigger plates. If it had that choice and I could adjust the temperature to higher one I think that I would be more than satisfied. Until then I don't believe that I'm gonna pay this high price for GHD pair of straighteners. 22 May 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 overall a good straightener I was the owner of an origi.al pair of ghds. The newer versions are good but I still think the originals were the best. The newer ones don't give the sleek effect I was used to. I had my previous pair for 8 years so I would definately recommend them for quality 22 May 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 Quality you can be Assured of. I bought the Max for my daughter. She was over the moon when I gave it to her as a present. Immediately the inferior make and model were packed away. I can now get my daughter to clean her room up with the threat of taking the straighteners away if she doesn't. Call me mean but in this day and age with Teens getting lazier by the day I am left with no choice. Review written by her Dad who spoils her. You reap what you sow. 22 May 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by New product not as good as my old one. I bought a new set of the large straighteners to replace my old ones that my daughter has pinched. Although they have one or two features that my old ones don't have they are not as good. I have thick wavy hair and I can't get my hair as I want it so easily, it takes me much longer to straighten and thin my hair. I was assured when I bought them that they would be beta but although they are good, not as good. 22 May 2013
