STEPPING OUT

It was once a huge fashion no-no, but come spring we’ll all be showing off our socks under sandals.

After a plethora of hugely respected design houses, including Burberry, Alexander Wang and Christian Dior, sent their models down the catwalks in bare legs, open toed heels and pop socks, showing off your socks is the new mini-trend in town. Really, it should be no surprise with cool girls like Chloe Sevigny and Fearne Cotton already sporting the style with aplomb.

This is one catwalk trend that’s within everyone’s budget, so if you’re going to be stocking up on some show-stopping socks get it right! Look for iridescent fabrics which sparkle and shimmer; team them with peep toes and a cocktail dress for a fun eveningwear outfit. For daytime, toughen the look up as they did at Chloe with chunky knitted socks in dirty neutrals and put your best foot forward.
