MILAN FASHION WEEK HAIR AND BEAUTY REPORT

Whilst Milan Fashion Week followed in New York and London’s footsteps for natural looking, fresh hair and makeup with a nineties minimalist feel, it has also swayed towards statement looks which are fierce in their attention grabbing.
The smoky eye, as sported by models at Rocco Barocco and DSquared2, has been given a makeover; taking it from a classic cosmetic style to a modern make-up look with one swish of an eye shadow brush. The new smoked-out eye is heavy with strong, rich colour and layered shadows fading outwards. The look was further exaggerated with an intense red pucker, reminiscent of a Robert Palmer video, and hair pulled backwards to strengthen the bold face.
Sex kitten locks took centre stage, making big blow-outs a necessity for the Autumn/Winter season. At Versace and Blumarine the hairstyles were soft and gleaming with locks worn down, begging to have fingers running though them. This is touchy feely hair at its very best.
In stark contrast to the bombshell hair swooshing down Blumarine’s catwalk, the pixie cut is also set to be an upcoming winter trend. At Emporio Armani models sported short, sharp crops that sat above the ear, falling in front of the face.
