HAIR AND BEAUTY FORECAST
Hair and beauty in 2010 will be split into two camps; soft and subtle or architectural and sharp. Here are our trend predictions for the year ahead. Which will you follow?
As pastel shades dominate the wardrobe this season, light, bubblegum hues will be slipping into cosmetics too. Pretty pinks are washed over cheeks and lips in varying degrees of vibrancy. At Moschino Cheap and Chic all eyes were on the lips which popped with bright pink whilst Bottega Veneta opted for sophisticated raspberry.
Future hair trends include twists, plaits and knots, thanks to Matthew Williamson's version of the classic bun, which was given new life with an intricate braid. Elsewhere, Issa rocked a Mardi Gras look by weaving coloured fabric through plaits which were arranged at the top of the head.
Whether your style speaks party-girl or elegant glam you're sure to find a trend which works for you this year.

HOT TO TROT
2009 was bursting with style icons that had their finger on the pulse of the best fashion, hair and beauty trends of the year. Here's our pick of the most stylish celebrities of 2009.
Cheryl Cole's designer wardrobe is a sight to behold, but it's her wavy hair that has us green with envy. To steal Cheryl's look prepare the hair for heat styling with ghd thermal protector and use ghd creation spray to create enviable volume. Hold your ghd IV salon styler on the hair at the root, rotating 180 degrees toward the crown and lifting vertically towards the ends to create bouncing waves.
Megan Fox is blessed with gorgeous looks, but her polished make-up is easy to get yourself. Use a liquid foundation to achieve a glowing, not matter, complexion and a lick of vampy red lipstick. Don't forget to get Megan's strong eyebrows with a swipe of an eyebrow pencil.
Love her or hate her, Lady Gaga raised more than a few eyebrows with her daring outfits in 2009. She almost single-handedly popularised the bodysuit and made it a must-have icon rather than a 1980s throwback and her attitude to fashion encourages personal style and self-expression, which is something we can all take note of.

FASHION FORECAST
This year fashion is going to be a varied bundle of sharp innovation and feminine charm. Here are our top picks of the trends to come.
Technology will be a huge influence in 2010. Innovative printing techniques, laser-cut fabric and futuristic gowns will be the weapon of choice for big name designers like Givenchy and Alexander McQueen, who streamed his Spring/Summer collection live over the internet so the whole world could get a look in.
Sportswear will be another popular look for 2010, but with a distinctly American twist. From cowboy inspired denim to preppy blazers, chinos and shorts, we'll all be taking style advice from our American cousins.
Spring style will be saturated with pastel shades and ice-cream hues. Sherbet lemon nougat pink and powder blue will be key colours. From delicate dresses to sharp knitwear, the pastel trend will continue through the entire wardrobe for devastatingly chic effect.

PURPLE REIGNS
Traditionally standing for luxury, wealth and sophistication; purple is a regal and powerful colour which oozes with femininity and romance. This rich shade is totally on trend at the moment and is set to stay that way all through 2010.
There's a dazzling range of purple tones to pick from; soft lilacs and lavenders, striking violets and magentas, and moody plums and pomegranates are all luxuriant yet wearable choices.
In the light of day opt for gentle, pastel shades for a sophisticated and flirtatious style. When darkness falls, switch to full on glamour with deep and expensive-looking jewel tones; amethyst will dazzle against metallic accessories like gunmetal clutch bags or golden heels.
For a simple, everyday nod to the trend try adding a bold splash of purple with tights, gloves, a belt or some eye-catching shoes. Team these flashes of purple with timeless black pieces like Alberta Ferretti for an impeccable, feminine take on the trend.
