One of the hottest nights of the year for women across the UK, the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards celebrates the achievements of smart, passionate and inspirational women - and of course, we wanted to be there to celebrate too. In pride of place at the star-studded event, ghd was amongst 10 other brands, including Lacoste and Lipsy, where celebrities were invited to choose from their favourite items to take home. The ladies couldn't get enough of the ghd gifts on offer, most notably the must-have ghd of the season: the limited edition purple ghd IV styler. Winner of the Ultimate Confidence Award, Alesha Dixon, along with Danni Minogue, Nicole Appleton, Jamelia and Melanie B were a few of the A-listing names spied in the ghd Talent Gift Retreat on the night… and this is what they had to say: Danni Minogue's stylist, Christian Vermaak, explained: "Dannii loves her purple ghd's. It's her favourite colour!" Through and through ghd devotee, Jamelia said: "I'm addicted to ghd's. I collect all of them!"

A firm believer in organic, chemical-free skincare, Rose-Marie Swift, the New York-based celebrity make-up artist (and make-up artist of choice for Giselle), has launched a new line of cosmetics, so pure it is literally as good as food for the face. Using only organic ingredients, such as minerals, coconut oil, shea butter and argan oil, the enzyme-packed make-up hydrates and nourishes the face: think skincare, but with colour. After years of working in the beauty industry contributing to fashion titles including Vogue, W and Harper's Bazaar, Rose-Marie has been exposed to the implications of toxic chemicals in beauty products, and so came up with the inspiration behind her range. Our favourites? The lightweight, non-drying 'un' cover-up concealer and cream eye shadows, which double up colour with a moisturizing glow.

Wonderful news. The fashion insider's favourite Aussie accessories brand, Mimco, has opened in the UK. Most loved for their jewellery, but also for gorgeous handbags, hats, shoes and hair accessories too, their latest store is located in the swanky new mega-mall of Westfield in London.
