backstage with ghd and david Koma LFW AW13
Fashionista favourite – the ponytail – was the look for David Koma's A/W13 show at London Fashion Week thanks to ghd creative director Kenna and his backstage ghd styling team
A low, middle-parted pony at the nape of the neck worked seamlessly with the strong lines and futuristic feel of David Koma's A/W13 collection. Want some tips on the perfect pony? Trot on...

2 part
Create a middle parting with the ghd tail comb.

3 set with heat
Using the ghd air hairdryer, dry off the hair either side of the parting to set it in place.

5 gather
Gather the hair together at the nape of the neck.

6 secure
Use a snag-free elastic to secure the ponytail in place.

7 tighten
Divide the ponytail in two and pull apart the sections to tighten the band at the nape.

8 loosen off
Holding the ponytail at the nape, loosen off the sides of the ponytail so they hang loosly over the ear.

9 finish
Rub individual strands between your thumb and finger to create a wispy texture. Loosen some longer strands so they fall and frame the face.
