backstage with ghd and PPQ at London Fashion Week AW13
Naomi. Cindy. Christie. Taking inspiration from the supermodels from the 1990s, hair was powerful, exaggerated and undoubtedly feminine.
Big hair? Now you're talking. A super-sized sweeping updo showed off the graphic shapes and necklines of PPQ's latest collection

1 PREP
Spray hair with ghd style root lift spray, making sure that it's evenly distributed.

4 WRAP
All hands on deck! Take large sections of hair and wrap them into, and around the bun.

8 ADD HEAT
Working with the front piece of hair that was left loose, use a styler to add head to the entire section.

2 ADD PADDING
Secure an oversized hair donut to the crown - this will be the foundation for the style.

5 CREATE SHAPE
Keep going until all hair, except for the lowest section has been pinned around the donut.

8 CLIP INTO PLACE
Roll hair back onto itself and secure with a sectioning clip. Once cooled, brush out to create a flick.

3 BUILD
Thread small sections of hair through the hole in the donut to start building out the shape. Leave the front free.

7 SCOOP AND PIN
Wrap the remaining section of hair in a sweeping motion, around the side of the head.

9 FINAL FIX
The heat is on! Lock the look in place with a blast from the ghd air hairdryer.
