Say hello to Ben Russell
Known as the happiest guy in hairdressing, Ben is a style director at the house of Rush and has worked at London Fashion Week!
DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN FIVE WORDS Happy. Hard-working. Passionate. Ambitious. Positive.
Why Hair? I always thought that hairdressing looked like a fun and interesting job. When I started, it didn't even feel like work because I enjoyed it so much. On a daily basis, my job involves making people feel good, to challenging myself.
Which hairstyle do you wish you'd invented? It has to be the classic bob by Vidal Sassoon.
What inspires you? I get inspired by people and education. I love to learn and listening is the key to learning.
I don't think I would ban any hair trend from history because there was a time and a place when all fashion was cool. Current trends rely on the past to develop.
Who is your industry hero? Akin Konizi from Hob Salons. I'd love to be as succesful as he is one day.
Decribe your style of work: I'm still developing my style, but all my work has an element of strength; strong lines or shapes with texture or movement.
What's been your best "hair" moment? Winning my place on the ghd style squad and my one-on-one training with Andy Heasman.
