Always comb through each section before styling
Detangled hair will enure hair glides easily through the styler resulting in a smooth, glossy curl.
Always keep your section sizes consistent
The tightness of your curl or wave depends on the section of hair you choose. For a really tight curl opt for a small section of hair. For a looser wavy look you can choose thicker pieces.
Always keep your angles and direction of travel consistent
The angles and direction of travel are also key for achieving the look you want. For curls, keep the styler horizontal, and glide out away from the head. Waves are created by positiong the ghd oracle vertically, and gliding downwards towards the floor.
When gliding, keep tool completely vertical or horizontal (depending on the look) – don’t tilt or tip it as you move it
Keeping the angle consistent will ensure your curls are even. If you tilt or tip of the styler too much the section of hair may have different, uneven curls.
Hold the end of your hair as you glide, to prevent hair from falling out of the tool
If the hair does fall out of the styler, wait till the section of hair has cooled completely before you attempt to style it again. If the hair is still warm it will not curl properly.
When gliding, pull the tool slowly
Take your time and don't press the styler on the hair too hard. If you glide too quick, the hair will not curl and clamping the hair tightly can leave unattractive lines in your locks.
