Get the look – beach wave hair

Create a playful twist on summer's salty and sun-kissed texture trend and create wavy hairstyles using the ghd gold® styler.

Bring that surfs-up style to your hair whatever the season by twisting your locks into beach waves. Creating a wavy hairstyle that’s full of texture will throw you back to times soaking up the rays and diving in the salty sea, when your hair felt and looked sultry and sun-kissed.

To craft those far-out ripples, you need some solid texture – ghd curl hold spray is the perfect base to start off your styling and keep your waves held in place. Then, turn your locks into wavy hair, with the ghd gold® styler.

Achieve an ocean-inspired look from the comfort of your own home with a set of beach waves – the wavy hairstyle that epitomises that summer ethos.

BEACH WAVE HAIR

Craft romantic beach waves in your hair. With alternating twists and twirls, you can create this beachy boho look in your own locks. Check out our how-to guide and style this wavy hairstyle for yourself.

Here’s how to create beach waves in your hair

1. Prep hair with ghd curl hold spray

2. Begin to wave with your ghd styler

3. Wave in the opposite direction

4. Break waves up

step one: Prep hair with curl hold spray

To start, prepare your locks to hold in curls with a generous spritz of ghd curl hold spray on damp hair. This creates a gutsy, second day texture that makes the perfect foundation for beachy styles.

step two: Begin to wave with your ghd styler

Take your ghd gold® styler and place a 2-3 inch section of hair between the plates. Turn the styler towards your face and pull down 3 inches (less if your hair is shorter), leaving the ends unstyled.

step three: Wave in the opposite direction

Twist your styler in the opposite direction and glide down, repeating this alternating technique until you’re just above the ends of your hair.

step four: Repeat throughout your locks

Take another 2-3 inch section of hair and repeat steps 2 and 3. Complete this throughout your locks for a head full of waves.

step five: Break up waves

Use your fingers to break up the waves and create that beachy, textured style. For a softer movement in your locks, gently brush through your locks with a ghd detangling comb.

Tip: Complete the look and lock in those waves with a spritz of ghd final fix hairspray.

Create cool, summer-worthy twists and turns with the help of your ghd styling kit. Whether you’re chilling on the beach or rocking out at a festival, you can create beach wave hair to match the occasion. Use this guide and transform your style into carefree beach babe, all with a twist of your ghd styler.
