How-to Hairstyles: Braided Headband
Embrace the festival girl spirit with this chunky plait hairstyle.
Braided hair has never been more on trend. Channelling boho festival vibes through plaited hairstyles has become the go-to look, giving you points from two type of styles – chic and casual. Partner a basic plait with some playful touches and see that achieving a braided headband doesn’t have to be rocket science.
When it comes to braiding hair, think chunky and cool. Make a braided headband your hair’s very own self-made accessory with the ghd step-by-step guide.
Here’s how to create a braided headband
1. Take hair section and split into three
2. Plait hair to the end
3. Flatten plait
4. Repeat step 3 throughout
5. Place plait across hairline
6. Secure in place

step one: Take section and split into three
Begin by taking a section of hair from just above the ear and splitting it into three pieces.

step two: Plait hair to the end
Plait the three sections of hair together, all the way through to the ends.

step three: Flatten plait
To make the braid bigger, flatten the plait by stretching out each section of hair.

step four: Repeat step 3 throughout
Continue step three across the entire braid until you get a loose and breezy braid you’re happy with.

step five: Place plait across hairline
Once you’ve achieved your desired size of plait, take the braided hair and place it across your hairline.

step six: Secure in place
To finish the look, secure the braid on other side of your head with a hair pin to create a headband effect.
