FESTIVAL STYLE WITH
STEPHANIE BRINKERHOFF: WAVES
Perfect your wavy hair game when it comes to festival season with Stephanie Brinkerhoff’s how-to guides.
Waves are the foundation of festival hairstyles. From messy curls, to textured tresses, ghd Ambassador Stephanie Brinkerhoff shares her tips for achieving free-spirited bohemian waves so you can get enviable festival hair.
Messy Curls with Headpiece
1. To create texture and volume, backcomb all of your hair at the roots.
2. Using the ghd curve® classic wave wand, curl 1-2 inch sections of hair.
3. Leave the ends straight, and alternate directions to keep the curls messy and dishevelled.
4. Finish with a spray wax or a texture spray.
Textured Tresses
1. Begin by backcombing all of the roots for texture and volume.
2. Using the ghd curve® creative curl wand, curl 1-2 inch sections of hair.
3. Wrap the top half of the strand in one direction around the wand. Once it is curled, unwrap it from the wand and curl the bottom half of the hair in the opposite direction. The result is a really natural wave pattern instead of a curl pattern.
4. Leave the ends straight to make it even more bohemian.
5. Finish with a spray wax or a texture spray.
Mermaid Waves
1. To start, backcomb all of your roots to add texture and volume.
2. Using the ghd platinum® styler, curl 2-inch sections of hair.
3. As you curl, pull in a downwards direction to elongate the curls, making them straighter and not too bouncy.
4. Alternate directions to keep the curls dishevelled.
5. Finish with a spray wax or a texture spray.
