Blow-dry Bed Head
When it comes to rocking the bed head look, we have serious hair envy for those who can say ‘I woke up like this’. If you’re not blessed with natural, messy locks, turn to ghd styling tools to master this slept-in style.
Make things easy by focusing your attention on the top and front sections of your hair; creating some pin curls at the crown and waves at the front will disguise the cheats ‘braid crimp’ underneath. The braid crimp is a great technique for when you want to add subtle movement to hair without the full shape of a curl. A simple three strand plait blasted with the ghd air® hair dryer will create the ideal base for a blow-dry look in half the time.
Finish by backcombing your roots with the ghd narrow dressing brush and use your fingers to shake out your locks for perfectly imperfect volume and texture. Follow our simple step-by-steps and make the Blow-Dry Bed Head your go-to look for the ultimate in effortless chic.

2. Section hair
3. Place brush under the hair and wrap around the barrel

5. Pin curl the hair and leave to cool
6. Continue steps 3 to 5 throughout the crown section
7. Section the rest of the hair
8. Braid hair
9. Blow-dry braids
10. Release the front sections of the hair and blow-dry
11. Continue technique on the remaining front sections.
12. Undo the braids and the pinned up sections on top of the head
13. Dress out hair

step one: Prep damp hair with ghd root lift spray
Starting with hair that is 80% dry, spray ghd root lift spray throughout the head to add volume.

step two: Section hair
Take a round section at the crown and clip away.

step three: Place brush under the hair and wrap around the barrel
Starting at the back of the crown, place a ghd ceramic radial brush size 2 under a section of hair and wrap the hair around the brush once.

step four: Step four: Blow-dry section
Using the ghd air® hair dryer, rock the brush up and down at the root, directing the airflow at the brush.

step five: Pin curl the hair and leave to cool
Release the hair from the brush and wrap around your fingers into a barrel curl. Secure with a clip and leave to cool.

step six: Continue steps 3 to 5 throughout the crown section
Continue drying the hair up to the top of the head using the same technique, leaving the front sections for later.

step seven: Section the rest of the hair
Separate either side of the remaining sections of the hair and clipping away the front pieces to work on later.

step eight: Braid hair
Using a three strand technique, braid the hair on each side and secure with a hair elastic.

step nine: Blow-dry braids
Use the ghd air® hair dryer to gently heat the braids.

step ten: Release the front sections of the hair and blow-dry
Take a diagonal section from the front of the face. Place the brush behind the hair and rolling away from the face, follow the brush to the ends with the hair dryer. This will create a soft flick away from the face to frame it.

step eleven: Continue technique on the remaining front sections.
Continue the technique throughout the front sections, remembering to roll and dry away from the face.

step twelve: Undo the braids and the pinned up sections on top of the head
Undo the braids and the pin curls, backcombing the curls with the ghd narrow dressing brush as you release them.

step thirteen: Dress out hair
Using your fingers for an imperfect finish, dress out the hair.
