FINALIST: LOUISE BURGESS
WHY DO YOU WANT TO WIN? Zoe is a great session stylist. I love Zoe’s work, particularly her Summer Waves collection. Working with Zoe would be a fantastic opportunity for me to learn from the best.
WHAT INSPIRED THIS LOOK? I did my research by talking to clients and stylists, getting opinions of what people perceive a ‘real lady’ to be. I combined this with my own perception of a ‘real lady’ which are style icons from Bardot to Hepburn. My final look is a powerful and feminine interpretation of the iconic Bardot.
WHAT CHALLENGES DID YOU HAVE ON THE DAY? One of my looks didn’t work with the model so I had to improvise and recreate a new look. I had a few mood boards in place based on the ideas from my research, so I was well prepared.
FINALIST: VIX STEVENS
THE THEME FOR THE DAY WAS 'TREAT HER LIKE A LADY'. HOW DID YOU RESEARCH THIS? I took inspiration from the latest catwalk looks and combined this with my style of work. I love creating beautiful hair, hair that makes people look and say they would love their hair to look like that. I love creating different shapes and textures!
WHAT INSPIRED THIS LOOK? Using lots of texture, I wanted this look to be soft with a retro 1960s feel. It's a look that's easily wearable too!
WHAT WAS THE BEST PART OF THIS EXPERIENCE? The whole Spotlight competition has been great. Even though it was a competition, meeting the other finalists has been a highlight.

FINALIST: CLARE CLARK
WHY DO YOU WANT TO WIN? Working with Zoe would be a once in a lifetime opportunity and I feel that I can really relate to her feminine, fresh and girlie approach to hairdressing.
WHAT INSPIRED THIS LOOK? This look took inspiration from the 1960s and the 1980s with backcombed roots and lots of texture. I wanted to create a style that epitomised innocence with a bad girl edge!
WHAT WAS THE BEST PART OF THIS EXPERIENCE? Actually seeing my work on set in front of the camera! It gave me the best feeling I could have ever imagined and the compliments from the photographer still bring a huge smile to my face. I loved every minute of being on this shoot.
