Where do you get inspiration for hairstyles and looks?
Everywhere! I notice details and people no matter where I am. I love traveling and discovering different cultures and esthetics. Besides the obvious fashion magazines, fashion weeks, Tumblr, and Instagram (which I love), I also see it a lot with children’s effortless hairstyles, movies, and model’s “off duty” looks.
What is your go to style when it comes to hair and makeup?
I’m typically known for the effortless chic look. I love a lot of fresh glow, and a less is more approach. Don’t get me wrong I love glamour and hair and makeup products, but I like to finesse the look so it just looks pretty and a little lived in.
What’s the best hair advice you’ve ever been given?
Magic doesn’t happen over night. If you are going for a specific change/color, be patient. Cut your hair if it’s not serving you anymore. Don’t hang on to the long hair dream! Embrace your natural texture, and learn to work with it, not against it!
Who is your red carpet beauty crush?
Totally Rooney Mara. Her hair and makeup looks are fresh, innovative and fierce. I would die to work with her!
What were your favorite beauty trends this red carpet season?
Seeing ease with the styles. They were still with purpose, but I like that we also saw imperfections and undone styles.
What were you some of your favorite red carpet looks at this years Academy Awards?
Rooney Mara, Charlize Theron, Rachel McAdams and Kerry Washington
Based upon the hairstyles we saw at the Academy Awards what trend(s) do you think are here to stay?
I was surprised to see so many women rocking their glasses when they presented. I think fresh faces with pretty makeup instead of a bold statement is here to stay. It’s more natural and highlights a women’s overall beauty.
What’s the key to taking a style from the red carpet and incorporating it into your everyday style?
Basically taking the inspo and roughing it up a little bit. The great thing now, however, is that I think anything goes. If you’re confident, you can wear anything!
