Where do you find inspiration for your hairstyles?
I find most of my inspiration from other hair gurus and stylists on instagram and pinterest.
What is your signature style when it comes to hair and makeup?
My favorite hairstyle is down with soft curls and maybe an accent headband braid. For makeup, prefer to keep it simple with natural, “no makeup makeup.”
What is your favorite hairstyle for Spring & why?
My favorite would definitely be mermaid waves in a half up style with multiple braids that has a bohemian, effortless feel.
What are your tips to achieving fresh Spring hairstyles?
Add a few extra braids or twists to any hairstyle and fan them out to make them more full and appear more effortless.
What would your dream Spring Break look like?
A trip to a beach resort somewhere exotic with my entire family, siblings, spouses the works.
What is one hair trend you are seeing this Spring that you think is here to stay?
Rope braids are a huge hit right for Spring and they are always making a fresh comeback with different style and techniques for wearing them.
What’s your go to style for the following: 1) Date Night 2) Brunch With Friends 3) Pool Party 4) Music Festival.
Date night: chic low bun with soft volume at the crown
Brunch: second day curls with an accent braid
Pool party: messy top knot with a headband or flirty high ponytail
Music festival: a leather headband and micro braids with mermaid curls or braided into a single fishtail braid.
What advice would you give to someone who is new at braiding?
Practice, practice, practice. Try not to get discouraged and take it slowly, learning the difference between all the different types of braids. Some will be easier to recreate than others.
What is the best hair advice and/or tip you’ve ever been given?
Always comb through the hair before braiding. Spray the braid with hairspray once it's done, sliding a hand down the sides to smooth flyaways along the edges before carefully fanning it out. This will help minimize flyaways and help the braid from falling out throughout the day.
