Mollie King X ghd : Textured Pony with Velvet Bow
Keep your hair up and away this festival season. Find out how ghd styled Mollie King's hair for Coachella 2017.
Don’t let the performers be the only ones to take a bow to this festival season. If you’re heading to a high-Fahrenheit festival, keep your tresses out of your face with a festival hair updo that screams out for cool, bohemian adornment. Getting that lived-in ‘I’ve been camping for three days’ look is key to pulling off this updo style – your look will epitomise that iconic festival vibe thanks to textured and backcombed roots. Tie a strip of velvet ribbon around your low-hanging pony to add to that far-out hippy style.
Get updo perfection with the textured pony/velvet bow combo, as modelled by Mollie King at Coachella 2017, and let your festival hairstyle take center stage.

HOW TO CREATE A TEXTURED PONY WITH VELVET BOW
1. Create undone texture in the hair by prepping with the ghd curl hold spray and blow dry into hair using the ghd flight® wanderlust travel hairdryer.
2. Add texture and movement by using the ghd gold 1" amber sunrise styler. Place the styler vertically into the root of the hair and twist 360 degrees as you push it through to the ends of the hair, alternating sections to add more movement.
3. Backcomb the roots to lift and add volume, then use fingers to pull hair back into a low ponytail and secure with elastic.
4. To soften the front, gently pull pieces of hair forward.
5. Finish the look by tying a piece of velvet ribbon into a bow and cut the ends of the material so they they’re even. Set the look in place by spritzing the ponytail with hairspray.
