STEP-BY-STEPS

Here’s how to create beach waves for short hair
1. Apply product to damp hair
2. Use a hairdryer to roughly blow-dry locks
3. Separate the front section from crown to the ear, then twist one side back into a loose bun
4. Repeat on opposite side
5. Section from ear to ear
6. Split the bottom section in half and create two twisted buns
7. Release the top section and split into three. Repeat the twisted bun technique on each section
8. Use a diffuser to work around the hair
9. Release the buns and shake out into lose waves
10. Tilt the head back and run your fingers through your hair
11. Flip the front in the opposite direction of the parting
12. Rub a finger-scoop of dry wax through your hair

step one: Apply product to wet hair
Pump ghd Total Volume Foam into your hands and apply to damp hair.

step two: Use a hairdryer to roughly blow-dry locks
Use the ghd air® professional hair dryer to blow-dry your hair until it’s 80% dry.

step three: Separate the front section from crown to the ear, then twist one side back into a loose bun
Using the ghd Tail Comb, separate the front section from the crown to the ear. Then twist one side back into a loose bun and secure with a hair pin.

step four: Repeat on opposite side
Now take the remaining section and twist it back into a loose bun and secure with a hair pin.

step five: Section from ear to ear
Use the comb again to section your hair from ear to ear at the back of the head. Use a sectioning clip to pin the top half of your hair out of the way.

step six: Split the bottom section in half and create two twisted buns
Divide the bottom section of hair and create a twisted bun on each side of your head. Secure in place with hair pins.

step seven: Release the top section and split into three. Repeat the twisted bun technique on each section
Remove the sectioning clip and release your hair. Split it into three equal sections and repeat the twisted bun on each.

step eight: Use a diffuser to work around the hair
Attach the ghd air® diffuser to your hairdryer for a more gentle airflow, and use it to dry the rest of your hair.

step nine: Release the buns and shake out into loose waves
Take out all the hair pins and use your fingers to shake out your locks into waves.

step ten: Tilt your head back and run your fingers through your hair
Dress your waves by tilting your head backwards and running your fingers gently through your hair.

step eleven: Flip the front in the opposite direction of the parting
To encourage height at the front, flip the front in the opposite direction of your parting.

step twelve: Rub a finger-scoop of dry wax through your hair
For extra texture, apply a finger scoop of dry wax into your hand, and rub it backwards and forwards through your hair.
Beach waves for short hair are easy to create with ghd. Once you’ve mastered the look, you can wear this laid-back hairstyle everywhere, whether you’re having fun in the city or relaxing on the sand.
