These are the best!

I had my last version of these for nearly 5 years and they were well used. A year ago I went away and forgot them so bought a pair of cheaper GHDs. My original broke 6 weeks ago so started to use the cheaper ones. They pulled my hair and just would straighten like my originals. Decided to splash out on the platinum ones, so glad I did. They’re fab, no hair pulling, nice straight non frizzy hair or nice solid wavy curls. Do not waste your money on the cheaper ones like I did. There definitely is a difference!

Works really well - and looks beautiful!

I've been craving a pair of 'proper' straighteners for years (making do with cheap substitutes as I couldn't justify the prices). I finally took the plunge and decided to treat myself - and I finally understand what I was missing out on! They are well built, they work beautifully and my hair is finally smooth in one pass! They feel like they'll last a lot longer than the cheap ones too. One major disappointment - the matching storage case doesn't come with a heat mat (essential for my timber benchtops) which feels a bit mean after eyewatering initial outlay for the straighteners, having to then pay extra for the boring black bag and mat (not to mention now having to just keep the lovely taupe one in the cupboard doing nothing). Come on GHD - I get it that not EVERYONE needs a mat, but a lot of us do - so how about redesigning your carry cases so they all have the option for a matching clip on mat?

Heats up incredibly fast!

Pros: It heats up FAST It tells you when it’s heated up It doesn’t tug on my hair at all-very smooth Cons: The price I have coarse hair and I can’t say that this works any better than a less expensive model. I have to make multiple passes and while the waves are gone, it’s not flat. I may return this-I SO wanted to love it but I can’t justify the expense.

Lighter than previous version

I upgraded to the platinum plus from the platinum and It feels very similar but better. The plus is lighter and I love the cord it feels much lighter and even thinner it feels easier to use because it’s not as heavy as the platinum, the plus is definitely nicer. The only thing I don’t like or I just need to get used to is the part where it’s pink feels almost like paper it’s not as smooth as my previous GHD. The colour is beautiful and the added reminder to check your breasts is a bonus.
