step one: Spray root lift product onto hair
Prepare the hair with root lift spray – this will help create texture and lift.

step two: Braid 5-8 loose plaits around head
To create a textured base, braid 5-8 loose plaits around the head. Don’t worry about position or how neat they are, as you want a natural finish.

step three: Use hairdryer to heat braids
Using the ghd air® hairdryer, gently heat the braids up and down the length on a medium heat and speed.

step four: Cool, then undo braids and shake out
Once heated, allow the braids to fully cool then undo them and shake out with your hands.

step five: Gather hair up into a high pony
Using your fingers to keep a natural texture, gather the hair up into a high ponytail at the top of the head and secure with an elastic. Do not be afraid to go high with this!

step six: Pinch base of pony to loosen texture
Once the hair is secured in a ponytail, pinch the base to loosen and add more texture.

step seven: Split pony in 2 and tie loose knot
Separate the ponytail in two and tie a loose knot by crossing the two sections and looping the end of one through the middle.

step eight: Repeat creating knots
Continue tying loose knots until you reach the end of the hair.

step nine: Take ends of knots and grip to head
Take the very ends of the knots and grip them in place at the head.

step ten: Pull our knots for texture
Once secured, begin to pull the knots to create a lived in texture.

step eleven: Soften front of hair
Soften the front with your fingers or by brushing a soft brush in the opposite direction to the hair.
