the top part

9. Comb through your hair and shake through

step one: Prep hair with product
Spritz your locks all over with ghd curl hold spray for beach waves that look perfect all day.

step two: Section the hair from ear to ear and clip away the top part
Separate the top section of your hair, working from ear to ear, then clip it out of the way.

step three: Take a small section, place the styler at the roots and close the plates
Separate a half-inch-wide piece from the bottom section of hair, place the ghd platinum+ black styler near the root and close the heated plates.

step four: Rotate the styler 180° away from your face
To create a natural beach wave, turn the styler 180° – half a turn – away from your face.

step five: Glide to the ends
Keeping the styler in this rotated position, slowly glide it down to the ends of your hair.

step six: Repeat steps three to five on the next section of hair, but rotate the styler towards the face
Take another small piece of hair and repeat steps three to five with the styler rotated 180° in the opposite direction, towards your face. Alternating the direction will help to create a natural effect.

step seven: Continue working up in sections until all hair is curled
Repeat this technique on all your hair, including the top section which you clipped away, alternating the rotation of the styler each time.

step eight: On the front two sections, turn the styler away from your face
When styling the front two pieces of hair, rotate the styler 180° away from your face so the curls fall nicely around your features.

step nine: Comb through your hair and shake through
Use the ghd detangling comb to gently break up the texture of the curls. Tilt your head back and comb over your parting through to the ends of the hair, then give your locks a finally shake for extra volume.
Tip: Mist your tresses with hairspray for beach waves that look perfect all day.
