Which hair dryer would you recommend for me to buy? The air or the aura?

My hair is just normal hair has a slight kink in it! I love Boucey blowdrys!
Asked by: Lr500
Both our dryers would be fantastic at helping you achieve your desired look. The ghd air® is more of a powerful blow dry. It has an ergonomic design, advanced ionic technology, variable power & temperature controls, including cool shot, plus a 3m long power cable. The ghd aura® embodies more precision styling features. It's Laminair™ technology delivers a concentrated non-turbulent stream of air, giving you exceptional styling precision and control. Cool-Wall™ technology creates a ring of cool air around the hot air. The motor is smaller quieter and more energy efficient. It also has a 4m long power cable with the power block built into it making the hairdryer much much lighter. Aura or Air, which one is lighter?

Although the Aura specifications says it is lighter, the weight mentioned in the FaQ shows that the Aura is heavier than the Air. Can you please clarify which one is lighter (an by how much)? Thanks.
Asked by: lamariadam
We can confirm that the ghd air® weighs 0.71kg. We have developed the ghd aura® to be much lighter by moving the power block onto the cable itself. This has made the hairdryer 27% lighter with a weight of 0.52kg.

What hair dryer is better for frizz the air or aura

Asked by: midge
The ghd air dryer is our most powerful hairdryer with its Professional strength 2,100 Watt motor and its advanced ionic technology. The ghd aura is our newest dryer it is smaller, lighter, quieter, long lasting and more energy efficient than traditional professional hairdryers. the Advanced ionizer removes static electricity from hair, for frizz-free hair with no fly-aways. We think that both stylers would be perfect for your hair type and would always recommend using in combination with a styling product like our straight and smooth spray. http://www.ghdhair.com/straighten/straight-smooth-spray-normal-fine-hair

Technology

In the description of the GHD air hairdryer, you note the it uses advanced ionic technology. How does that differ to the ionoc technology? What is the advanced feature? Thank you.
Asked by: Andyy
The 'advanced' in this instance refers to the testing of our technology as it is heavily tested during development stages. Not only this, every ghd Air hairdryer is also tested during manufacture to make sure the ionizer works to it's optimal level.

Is the hairdryer universal wattage?

I live in Ireland but travel to USA a lot and heard on a blog that this hairdryer can be used all over the world with adaptor. Is this true? Thanks
Asked by: Lainey1111
We have 2 specific types of ghd air, one suited for a 220 volt/50 hertz system (that is the ghd air which you can buy in the UK) and one suited for countries having 110 volt/60 hertz electricity (that is the ghd air we sell in US and Canada). So if you travel from UK to US then unfortunately you cannot use the ghd air bought in Britain in the US, but if you travel to EU, South Africa or Australia then you can (if you use the correct plug adaptor).

I have Afro-Caribbean hair would you recommend the Air or Aura dryer?

Asked by: Nicam3
We would recommend the ghd Aura hairdryer for Afro-Caribbean hair. The ghd Aura has our Laminair™ technology and advanced ioniser for perfect precision drying. This technology delivers a highly concentrated stream of air allowing you to work on work section of hair without disturbing the rest of your hair. A smoother finish is created as the advanced ioniser reduces frizz and flyaways. Concentrated nozzle

I bought my dryer when it first came out and only have one concentrated nozzle which is useless. It flies off for no apparent reason when I have been using the drier for more than 3 minutes. Otherwise I love the drier. Anything I can do to prevent this? I have had the dryer for about 7 years and it has always performed like this.

I've got short layered hair but like lift and volume. Which dryer would be best?

Also finding current hairdryer is getting heavy..
Asked by: Joules
The air hairdryer is our fastest and most powerful model. However, if you are particularly wanting volume in your hair, we would recommend looking at the ghd Aura : https://www.ghdhair.com/hair-dryers/ghd-aura-professional-hairdryer. Also, as the Aura features an external powerpack, this means the dryer itself is substantially lighter.
