Creating centre parting

Brush the hair with a ghd tail comb and create a centre parting all the way to the bottom of the head.

Secure one side

Tie away one side with an elastic.

Take triangle section and split in 3

Starting at the top of the other side, take a triangle section and divide into three smaller sections. TIP: To create a French braid (which sits flush to the head), the braiding action goes over rather than under.

Pass inner strand over middle

Take the inner strand of hair and pass it over the middle strand

Pass outer strand over middle

Then take the outer strand and pass it over the middle strand.

Add extra hair on second pass

On the second pass, start to add a small amount of hair and then pass over – make sure you are neat when adding in the extra hair.

Repeat steps 4, 5, and 6

Continue this technique, continually adding hair to the outer and inner strands, and passing over each time. TIP: Try and keep your braid central down the back of your head.

Braid to the bottom and secure

Once you reach the bottom of the head and run out of hair to add, continue the braid as a simple three strand, then secure with a clear elastic

Repeat braiding technique on other side

Repeat the braid on the other side of your head.
