NEW GHD SPEED IONIC HAIR DRYER IN BLACK

Firstly, I love how sleek this hair dryer is, it’s certainly an upgrade from my GHD Air Dryer. The design is flawless and I particularly like the lights displaying the temperature and intensity of hair flow. I have long, thick hair and often find that drying my roots can leave my head feeling burnt/hot, which I don’t experience at all since using the Speed Ionic, so shout out to GHD for saving my scalp! It can take a moment to adjust to the controls, but the lock switch to stop any accidental adjustments to settings is such a brilliant feature that I’ve not experienced on any other dryer I’ve owned. This is one of the most powerful dryers I have used, and the power means I was able to dry my hair on a lower heat in the same time as a usual dryer on a higher heat. On first use, I noticed how much quieter the dryer was, and even my Fiancé made a comment about how it wasn’t as deafening as my old dryer - my cat who hates me drying my hair also seems completely unfazed when I use it so this has the seal of approval from her too!

The clue is in the name… Speed. This appliance is quite honestly amazing. I’m no hair expert, I just dry, straighten, go… but this product dried my hair in under 5mins (quite literally, I timed it twice, 1st Timed Dry: 5mins 2secs/2nd Timed Dry: 4mins 27secs) for long (45cm)/thick/fluffy/previously damaged/constantly dyed hair that spent no more than 10mins wrapped in a towel, using Mid Heat + Max Power… & no fluffiness either as the power seems to blow the hair relatively straight. There’s quite an array of settings, 4x power speeds + 4x heat settings which you can mix & match to whatever suits (plus a cool shot button)… The digital display on the back of the main unit is pretty clean/modern too. It also remembers what your last setting was. The Lock feature prevents any accidental button slips mid dry which I guess is helpful but it’s not something I’ve had to use. For anyone with young kids, be mindful that the Max Heat setting is pretty hot but this could be where the Lock switch can help ensure the dryer remains at a safe temperature. Also, the Low/Medium Heat + Max Power will probably have their hair dry so fast they won’t have time to squirm away on the dreaded Sunday night before school… WINNING !!! The overall design gives aviation vibes, shaped kind of like a jet engine… powers like one too. It felt a little heavier than my old dryer but in all honesty I didn’t notice much difference when using it. One great design point is no swivel cord !! I think we’ve all had hair appliances where the darn swivel cord twists & tangles the cable more than it prevents. This has a rubber flex base point so the cable stays straight. As for sound, like most dryers it’s going to be somewhat loud but if you want a comparison, a higher pitch version of those newer hand dryers… the ones you move your hands in & out of that dry your hands in 10secs or less… also gives an idea of the air power too. AND… the air flow attachment seems to be magnetic, felt like witchcraft at first but it’s super convenient to pop on or pop off. If you have the right tools, hair products & skills you could get a really smooth style done. Ooo… one tip I would give is try to keep the air flow down (from root to ends) as I found this helps for a straighter dry. This could make your roots look a little flat so I tried drying upside down for a minute targeting my roots before flipping my hair back to normal to finish drying (which seemed to work 😉) Overall, it’s great & I love using it. The faster drying really makes the most difference as it was always the bit I dreaded after showering, now it’s the part I enjoy knowing it will only take 5mins ☺️

I used the Speed Professional Dual Air Flow Hairdryer every time after washing my hair and before straightening it with my GhD straighteners. The product is very slimline and modern looking and has a very premium feel to it, like most GhD products I use. It’s great for blow drying hair because the air flow is directed quite specifically and narrow, but not so good for just a quick dry. It’s quite heavy to hold and the noise levels could be a little loud. It had great versatility in controlling the air flow with different power levels. Overall a quality addition to the GhD line up but perhaps not perfect in usage cases like mine.

This is my first time using a GHD hair dryer, and I’m very impressed. So far, I have only used my GHD Speed to blast dry my hair before straightening, and the results have been amazing and significantly reduced the time I spent straightening my hair. It dried my hair very quickly on one of the lowest heat settings, and the finish has been very smooth and frizz-free. The dryer feels a little heavy, but because of the shape of it, it’s very comfortable to hold. My favourite feature is the Lock slide button that stops you from accidentally changing the settings. The filter is super easy to remove and clean. I’m really looking forward to less heat damage to my hair and highly recommend this hair dryer.

I love my old ghd hairdryer. It is reliable and light and there was no way anything was ever going to better it. Then I got my hands on this! I am impatient and I get sore shoulders really quickly and this is honestly the fastest I have EVER dried my hair. Thoroughly dry and no sore shoulders or eye rolling at it not being dry yet! I have very thick hair that loves to do it's own thing. But this dryer had my hair dry in what felt like moments. And i didnt have frizzy hair at the end! It is light, looks pretty cool amd I love that you can adjust the power and temp very easily...and lock the settings so you dont inadvertently change the settings while drying your hair. Genuinely found myself smiling at the lights on it too! I'm sorry old hair dryer....but I have upgraded!
