step one: Prep hair with root lift spray at the root and mid lengths
To get the perfect base for your Crimp Dip, prepare the hair with ghd root lift spray at the root and through the mid-lengths.

step two: Dry in product with hairdryer and brush
Using a ghd air® hairdryer and a ghd size 3 ceramic vented brush, dry the root lift spray in and smooth the hair.

step three: Spray hair with curl hold product
Once dry and smooth, spray the full head with ghd curl hold spray.

step four: Section hair from ear to ear
Section the hair at the bottom of the head from ear to ear.

step five: Place styler at root and rotate half a turn
Place the ghd gold® styler at the root and pointing the styler downwards; rotate the styler 180°.

step six: Glide styler 3/4 of way down section
Glide the styler ¾ of the way down the section of hair to create a wave, leaving the ends of the section straight.

step seven: Repeat steps 5 & 6 on all hair, alternating direction
Repeat around the head, alternating the direction of the rotation for a textured finish.
TIP: Make sure the sections at either side of the face are curled away from the face.

step eight: For texture, place hair crimper at top of straight hair and hold
To add texture at the bottom, start by placing the ghd contour™ at the top of the remaining straight section and hold for 4 seconds, then repeat this down the remaining straight length.

step nine: Repeat step 8 on all remaining straight hair
Repeat the hair crimping throughout the bottom of each straight section to create a ‘crimp dip’.

step ten: Repeat steps 5-9 on all hair
Repeat the technique seen in steps five through to nine, until the whole head has been curled through the mid-lengths and crimped at the ends.

step eleven: Comb through curls
Using a ghd detangling comb, work through the curls to break up the texture.

step twelve: Gently brush crimped section with dressing brush
Brush the crimped sections gently with a ghd oval dressing brush to soften the texture.

step thirteen: embellishment
For an on-trend gold embellishment try layering some thin gold headbands into your wavy hair.
