step 1:
Create a centre parting to divide the hair into two sections.

step 2:
On the left half, take a 3-inch piece of hair from the front of your hairline. Divide it into three equal sections.

step 3:
Create your braid by taking the right section and pulling it across the middle section. Then cross the left section over the middle section.

step 4:
Continue to repeat step 3, taking extra hair and adding it in as you braid.

step 5:
Once you reach the crown, secure the braid with a hair tie, leaving the ends loose.

step 6:
Repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 on the right half of hair.

step 7:
Once you have two braids, take their loose ends and any remaining hair, wrapping them all together to create a bun. Secure with a hair tie.

The topknot is a fashion favourite thanks to its edgy style. Add a romantic vibe by pairing your updo with a delicate headband or flower hair tie. If you’re ready to take on the trend, follow our easy guide:

step 1:
Pull your hair back into a high ponytail near the top of your head. Secure with a hair tie.

step 2:
Wrap the lengths of the ponytail around the hair tie to form a topknot shape.

step 3:
Pin the loose ends around the bun to secure in place

step 4:
Play with the knot, gently tousling and teasing it to get that undone effect.

Create a deep side parting.

step 2:
For glamorous waves, take a 2-inch section of hair and flat-wrap around the ghd curve® soft curl tong.

step 3:
Repeat step 2 until all the desired hair has been curled.

step 4:
Form your waves by softly brushing through the curls using a ghd paddle brush.

step 1:

step 2:
On the heavy side of your parting, take a 3-inch section of hair from the front and divide into two equal sections.

step 3:
Take a half-inch piece of hair from the outside of the left section and pull it across the top of the left section and over into the right section.

step 4:
Take a half-inch piece of hair from the outside of the right section and pull it across the top of the right section and over into the left section.

step 5:
Repeat steps 3 and 4 alternately, adding more hair as you braid until you reach your ear. Then continue to fishtail braid all the way until the ends and secure with a hair tie.

step 6:
Take your remaining hair on the other side and create another loose fishtail plait down your back in the same way. Secure with a hair tie.

step 7:
Now you should have two fishtail braids. Pick up the thicker one and coil it up and around itself to form a bun shape, incorporating any leftover hair as required. Secure in place with hair pins.

step 8:
Take the smaller fishtail plait and wrap it over and around the bun. Pin into place.

Braided twisted buns

Repeat step 2 on the remaining two sections. Once complete, you should have three braids.

step 4:
Take the left braid and twist it around itself to form a small bun. Secure in place with hair pins.

step 5:
Repeat step 4 on the two remaining plaits.

Twist in braided style, plait into a bun or tease into a topknot. Whichever style you choose, these updos for mid-length hair will transform the way you rock your cut.
