CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF PARTNERSHIP WITH BREAKTHROUGH BREAST CANCER

We've been able to donate over £6,000,000 towards vital research for breast cancer and it's all thanks to you!

WHERE DOES THE DONATION GO?

For every pink styler that is sold, a £10 donation goes straight to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. This money is dedicated to finding the causes of breast cancer, improving treatment and much more.

2004: We raised £382.500 through sales of the first pink styler and salon fundraising

2005: The start of the TransATAC study to find out how to predict if a patient's breast cancer will return and the discovery of the Scaramanga gene which may play a role in breast cancer is discovered. £415,000 donated.

2006: The BRCA trial launched, the first treatment for hereditary breast cancer. £484,000 donated.

£100K FUNDS OVER A MONTH OF THE BREAKTHROUGH GENERATIONS STUDY, THE WORLD'S MOST COMPREHENSIVE STUDY INTO THE CAUSES OF BREAST CANCER.

2007: Aurora-A, a potential new drug to slow down tumour growth is identified, a study was launched to find out the causes of male breast cancer, clinical trials begin towards treatment of hereditary breast cancer and the potential of acupuncture to ease breast cancer related fatigue is investigated. £632,000 donated.

2008: The Triple-Negative Trial, to improve treatment for an aggressive breast cancer is launched and a potential new drug that stops cancer cells growing is identified. £632,587 donated.

£200K FUNDS THE COST OF THE TUMOUR DORMANCY AND RELAPSE TEAM FOR A WHOLE YEAR. THIS TEAM INVESTIGATES WHAT CAUSES BREAST CANCER TO RECUR AND WANT TO DESIGN MORE EFFECTIVE DRUGS TO ENSURE THAT CANCER CELLS DO NOT RETURN.

2009: The first drug targeting hereditary breast cancer is developed following research at Breakthrough's Research centre and a new unit at Kings College London opens. £734,475 donated.

2010: A major step towards finding out where the disease originates is made, a research unit in Manchester opens and a test that could reveal the benefit of chemotherapy within 24hrs is developed. £1,744,980 donated.

£500K FUNDS BREAKTHROUGH BREAST CANCER RESEARCH INTO EARLY DETECTION OF BREAST CANCER FOR OVER 7 MONTHS.

2011: Three new ways of killing cancer cells are found and new genes linked to breast cancer are discovered. £933,021 donated.

2012: A major discovery by Breakthrough scientists means that families with a history of breast cancer can take a test to see if they have the faulty gene and a simple test to discover the likelihood of a patient's risk of breast cancer returning is developed. £741, 971 donated.
