Behind the Scenes at Olivia Rubin AW20
Join ghd ambassador Zoe Irwin backstage at London Fashion Week, and discover her 80s inspired look, styled for the Olivia Rubin AW20 show.
Inspired by the nostalgia of the 80s and 90s, Olivia Rubin's AW20 presentation showcases her signature bold prints with chic silhouettes for a contemporary and feminine feel.
Olivia's vibrant AW collection celebrates luxurious satin fabrics and colour-block knitwear; interpreting elements of bold 80s styles for a softer, modern shape around the shoulders, while longer skirt lengths radiate an ultra-feminine air.
ghd ambassador Zoe Irwin styled a playful, party hair look for the show to mirror the nostalgic concept of the collection, transforming a sweeping 80s style with a luxury, textured feel for a contemporary look. Zoe created the "Flip & Grip" style using bespoke coloured hair accessories to reflect the four hero colours seen in Olivia's collection, and chic loose curls to create a fun, detailed style.

To create texture and lift in the look, Zoe began by prepping each model's hair with ghd root lift spray, before using the ghd helios hair dryer to add volume and create "the flip". Zoe adapted the technique to each model's own hair type, working with their natural texture as she styled each of their looks.
Zoe styled a soft wave texture using the ghd curve® classic curl tong, pinning each section once curled for extra hold. To soften the look, Zoe gently brushed out the curls using the ghd oval dressing brush, creating a loose, luxury feel.
The final step was adding the colourful hair pins, perfectly tying the look to the collection, and fixing in place with ghd final fix spray.
